It Got Me!!
Yup it got me! I am sick. I have been fighting it for more than 4 days and I was not strong enough to overcome it. Last night I got home at 10 still having to eat and to call my mom so it was 11 until I finally went upstairs to go to sleep. Unfortunately I couldn’t fall asleep right away even though I only had about 7 more hours to sleep. Too many thoughts had to be thought of. During the night I woke up at least 20 times. Totally soaked by sweat and therefore freezing. I tucked myself more into my blanket but it didn’t help much. At one point (it was 3 am) I changed my pjs because I couldn’t stand the wetness anymore. Those got wet in no time as well. When it was time to get up I finally felt comfortable in bed but at that time it was too late. Now I am sitting in the train with a headache, weak (so that I can even feel the strength it takes to type :) ) and tired.
That is all for the negative part. The positive things are that I was really early for my train today. I had to WAIT for 10 mins. I get to meet my fellow students and I get to check out three new classes. I can go home in the afternoon because I have a 5 hour break until rehearsals start. Oh yeah, I haven’t mentioned that I went to the auditions for the academic orchestra and actually made it! I mean, I went there because my teacher told me I had a chance, but after listening to everybody else I was pretty certain I would not make it. They played much harder music than I did and I messed up so badly in my audition. I wasn’t satisfied with the result at all. But what I figured after thinking about it, they didn’t care so much about the tones being on pitch but about the technique one uses and the tone quality one produces and that I know how to do. It took a total of 2 hours until everyone was done and after that I went back to the KG II to chat with friends.
Being a student will be exhausting.

I'm so sorry you are sick :( You know that I am fighting off the beginnings of a sickness, too. it hasn't got me completely yet though. Yesterday I had a fever and a major tickle in my throat. Today I am feeling a little better, but still notice the weakness in my body. Hopefully it will not overcome me.
Take care of yourself!!! Sleep, sleep, sleep.
Congratulations on making it into the orchestra. I'm really proud of you!

Today I finally started getting better but my major headache is still present. I could actually sleep well after taking about 2 hours until I fell asleep!
I hope I will do well at our first performance today and I hope I can keep you posted. The orchestra was kind of shocking for me. The music is extremely hard and I will have to dedicate a lot of time to practice. I don't think I will stick to this orchestra in the future. It is not very fun it is more like a professional orchestra and I don't enjoy this so much. We will see...
